Little Hannah the Fool can't make up her mind. I was about to burst by the time I reached the last page. Ugh. Should send her to some motivational course. As always, Gregory uses history as Elizabeth used her man-whores. Pfft.

book The Ladies of Grace Adieu

Oh she writes delightfully! I can't wait for her next book! Please, Ms Clarke, please publish the next book already!

Oh good. Another good Cillian Murphy flick. He he. But Eccleston - ewww though his character was - practically stole the limelight.

WTF ?!

Thursday, November 09, 2006 - 3:39 PM

When I read this, I couldn't stop shaking my head. Like, major WTF moment there. The movie doen't need a makeover. Even a retard knows this. It's their heads that require checking. I can't imagine what in heck George Clooney would be doing in a Kurosawa, remake or not. Idiots. I hope the question mark doesn't become a fullstop.

Edit: I forgot about The Magnificent Seven. But that remiss in my memory speaks volumes doesn't it? All I recall about that cowboy fiasco was the bald man from man-paradise, Yul. It was an all American version, so that worked a little. But Zhang Ziyi, Donnie Yen and George Clooney? What's that - The Seven Translations?

Comments:

I agree with you on the fact that such a wonderful movie needn't be remade. The fact that I know ten-year-olds who like that movie proves it.

But... I don't mind Donnie Yen and Zi-Yi Zhang being in the movie so much (sure, they're not Japanese, but hey, at least they're a hop, skip, and jump over the pond). As soon as George Clooney was mentioned, however, I immediately thought, "Oh my God, they're going to meld Seven Samurai--one of the greatest Samurai movies the world has ever seen--and The Last Samurai..."

Gulp.
