Swearing in Korean, No Lessons Included

Wednesday, March 21, 2007 - 5:58 PM

Sister and I have taken to damning every other person in Korean. As Sister succinctly puts it, it is quite the extension of satisfaction which entails swearing. Somehow, snorting and giving out a long-winded "God damn you" doesn't work for me. I do believe it's a dated form of daming a person anyhow, so I'm just being lousy with examples. Cos there seems to be no other reason to swear in Korean besides the fact that we've picked that particular bit of the language from watching one too many movies that the industry spews forth happily. It is telling of our collective characters too. Hehe.

Oh, those Oriental gods who live high in the misty mountains of the land to which I didn't give a second thought for many years... Doesn't sex sell though?

There she goes, swearing in the background. Ha ha.

Comments:

Swearing in other languages is funnier because of the exclusivity it entails. Huzzah!

I love swearing in other languages, too!

If I were to swear in English, I'd probably get in trouble by my parents. But saying swear words in Urdu (my "mother tongue"), is okay. My father thinks it's hilarious! Maybe its because of my horrible accent, or whatever... but I don't mind!

There's nothing better than swearing in other languages, especially when you know no one understands you ;)
